The British Government has just started the Settled Status public test phase and anticipates that the vast majority of the 3.5 million potential applicants will now join the 30,000 applicants who have already applied during the beta testing phase. It is regrettable that the Government did not make the decision to waive the £65 charge before inviting individuals to apply whilst the initial beta testing phase was taking place. The process of reimbursing the fee is not without cost. When the Government works out how this will be achieved all 30,000 applicants will receive their money back.
