Joanna Bailey nominated for three awards

Giambrone & Partners head of banking and financial fraud litigation department, Joanna Bailey, has been nominated for three awards by Inspirational Women in Law.

Joanna Bailey, a partner, has been nominated for three awards, by Inspirational Women in Law.  The organisation is aimed at improving the visibility of women in law and supporting the women lawyers of the future.   By highlighting the achievements of women lawyers it also intends to inform and inspire future generations of women in the profession and hopes to pave the way for women to become lawyers in the future. 

Joanna has been nominated in the categories of “Mentor of the Year”, “Rising Star of the Year” and “Cilex Lawyer of the Year”.

Joanna leads litigation involving frauds connected to cryptocurrency and Forex frauds.  She often challenges financial institutions on behalf of her clients involving investment issues and regulatory investigations where regulations have been breached and there was a failure to undertake adequate due diligence. As well as tackling wrongdoers perpetrating complex fraudulent schemes and has developed strategies to retrieve our clients' funds lost in fraud.

Joanna led the first case in Europe where legal proceedings were served on Persons Unknown connected with two digital wallets over the blockchain by non-fungible token or ‘NFT’ in a cryptocurrency fraud. Following this ground-breaking case Joanna was named as Lawyer of the Week in the Financial Times.
